A recently released study by ManpowerGroup has fascinating details about America’s job outlook in 2018:

In the Midwest, a number of sectors are showing positive outlooks. Leisure and hospitality tops all others, with 31% of employers expecting to add jobs. That’s followed by wholesale and retail trade (26%), transportation and utilities (25%), and professional and business services (23%).

In the northeast, the sector with the best net employment outlook forecast is, again, leisure and hospitality, at 26% of employers expecting to make hires in the first quarter of the year. That’s followed by wholesale and retail trade (23%), and professional and business services (21%).

 In the south, 30% of leisure and hospitality employers are intending to add jobs, followed by transportation and utilities (24%) and professional and business services (22%). In the western region of the country, transportation and utilities employers are showing the most activity, with 40% of them claiming they will hire in early 2018. The wholesale and retail trade follows, with 25%.
